re*start: Neubeginn trotz Krise, ein Thema, das uns alle betrifft. Neuer Mut und Notwendigkeit, Neugierde, also die Gier nach Neuem und Lust an Veränderung. Neubeginn, nochmal Schwung nehmen.

Es beginnt mit Ausstellungen. Doch im puuul hat vieles Platz, und ein wichtiger Teil des Vorhabens ist es offen zu sein für Ideen, Projekte und Hirngespinste.

Wer weiß schon, wohin die Reise geht?

* Den Ausstellungsraum pool gab es 4 Jahre lang, das Konzept war einfach: Das Atelier aufräumen und 3 Tage lang befreundete KünstlerInnen zum Ausstellen und Musik machen einladen. 15 Jahre später, eine Tür weiter: re*start.

what?

re*start: New beginnings despite crisis, a topic that concerns us all. New courage and necessity, curiosity, the need for the new and the desire for change. New start, taking momentum again.

It begins with exhibitions. But there is room for many things in the puuul, and an important part of the plan is to be open to ideas, projects and fantasies.

Who knows where the journey will take us?

* The exhibition space pool existed for 4 years, the concept was simple: clean up the studio and invite artist friends to exhibit and make music for 3 days. 15 years later, one door further: re*start.

warum?

Ausstellen ist wichtiger denn je. Es gibt keinen wirklichen Ersatz für die physische Erfahrung von Kunst. Zeigen und Wahrnehmen begründen eine für den Menschen (über)lebenswichtige Gabenbeziehung. Die Einschränkungen des Ausstellungsbetriebes betreffen KünstlerInnen also im Zentrum ihres Tuns, im Zentrum ihrer Existenz, die gezwungenermaßen unvollständig und schattenhaft bleibt. Die existentielle Wichtigkeit des persönlichen Zeigens und Wahrnehmens wird oft übersehen und in Zeiten von Social Distancing und Lockdown allzu leicht in nur digitale Welten transferiert.

Aber genügt uns das wirklich?

why?

Exhibiting is more important than ever. There is no real substitute for the physical experience of art. Showing and perceiving establish a gift relationship that is essential for human beings. The restrictions of the exhibition business thus affect artists at the center of their activity, at the center of their existence, which is forced to remain incomplete and shadowy. The existential importance of personal showing and perceiving is often overlooked and, in times of social distancing and lockdown, all too easily transferred to digital-only worlds.

But is that really enough for us?
