¡vamos, simbiosis! ist ein Kunst- und Wissenschaftsprojekt, das im Sinne der Initiative der Vereinten Nationen (UN) The Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) zur Erhaltung und Nachhaltigkeit der Meere ausgerichtet ist.

Inspiriert vom Prinzip der biologischen Symbiose bringt das Projekt Wissenschaftler*innen, Künstler*innen und die Öffentlichkeit zusammen, um Ideen für eine nachhaltige Beziehung von Mensch und Meer zu entwickeln. 

Die Ausstellung stellt das Pilotprojekt ¡vamos, simbiosis! am Mittelmeer (Águilas, Spanien, 2022) mit seinen Methoden und Ergebnissen dar, um das gemeinsame Potenzial von Kunst und Wissenschaft für Klima und Nachhaltigkeit zu zeigen. Sie bildet die Basis für die Weiterentwicklung der Initiative mit einer internationalen Community.

Parallel zur Ausstellung zieht das Symbiose Studio mit Künstler*innen aus Spanien und Österreich unter dem Motto The Sea comes to Vienna in den Ausstellungsraum ein und erarbeitet die Fortführung des Tanzprojektes Rhythm of the Sea. Diese Kooperation wird unterstützt von Culture Moves Europe (EU).

Mit Bezug auf das Projekt und insbesondere auf seine Lage am Mittelmeer präsentiert puuul zusätzlich die Ausstellung Mirando al Mar. Es handelt sich um eine Sammlung von Kunstwerken von Künstler*innen aus Österreich und Deutschland, die den persönlichen Dialog mit der Landschaft und dem Meer in Águilas, Spanien, abbilden.

¡vamos, simbiosis! is an art and science project aligned with the United Nations (UN) initiative The Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030) for the conservation and sustainable use of marine resources. Inspired by the principle of biological symbiosis, the project brings together scientists, artists and the public to develop ideas for a sustainable relationship between humans and the sea. 

The exhibition presents the pilot project ¡vamos, simbiosis! at the Mediterranean (Águilas, Spain, 2022) with its methods and results to show the joint potential of arts and science for climate and sustainability. It forms the basis for the further development of the initiative with an international community.

¡vamos, simbiosis! was initiated in 2021 by biologist Annika Guse and artist Stephanie Guse. The pilot project was funded by Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich (LMU), Marsilius Kolleg Heidelberg and Heidelberg University.

Parallel to the exhibition, the Symbiosis Studio with artists from Spain and Austria will move into the exhibition space under the motto The Sea comes to Vienna and develops the continuation of the dance project Rhythm of the Sea. This cooperation is kindly supported by Culture Moves Europe (EU).

Referring to the project and especially to its location at the Mediterranean, puuul  additionally presents the exhibition Mirando al Mar. It is a collection of artworks inspired by the landscape and the sea of Águilas, Spain by visiting artists from Austria and Germany.
